Elissa & Larry’s Wedding Movie Trailer

November 6th, 2009

It seems like the weather was such an influence with many weddings this past summer.  Like many couples, Elissa & Larry had planned to have their ceremony outdoors.  They chose the beautiful Interlaken Inn in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts.  And it absolutely poured that day.  However, a beautiful thing happened, and I don’t believe Elissa & Larry even knew this until now.  Just moments before their ceremony, the sun popped out and created a colorful rainbow!  Now that’s got to be a sign of good luck for a wedding day.

Vital Memories was there to film their day, as well as Eric Limon, one of our favorite photographers.  Please enjoy this short movie trailer, a teaser of what’s to come soon.  And yes, we captured their rainbow!

Jamie & Jorge

September 14th, 2009

Once again I had the honor to work with Tim Cook (cookproductions.com), this time at the wedding of Jamie & Jorge.  When shooting a wedding, there are many moments that happen very quickly.  Capturing those moments is the most fun (and most challenging!) for a wedding photographer.  It’s very common to have a second photographer to help capture those moments, to tell a complete story of the couple’s wedding day.

Here are a few images I shot at Jamie & Jorge’s wedding which took place at St. Anselm Church in Manchester, NH and concluded at the Raddison Hotel in Chelmsford, MA.

Allison & Shaun: A Berkshire Wedding

July 21st, 2009

Allison & Shaun were married this past weekend in the beautiful Berkshires in western Massachusetts.  Vital Memories was the filmmaker they chose to produce their wedding video, and we are very happy to present to you a little taste of the fun we all had.

The day started out as a beautiful sunny day.  The ceremony was filled with soothing African-influenced hand drumming by the members of KDZ (from Kripalu).  It was a tranquil setting with some calming music.

At the end of the ceremony, KDZ broke out with some great rhythms and had everyone hopping on their feet, including the bride & groom who joined in with their own drumming and percussion!  Very cool.

As people were mingling and grooving to the beats, without warning the skies opened up and it absolutely poured!  So, everybody was under the shelter, and all the instruments were just lying there.  What else was there to do but start playing again!  What a blast!

Here’s to a great wedding, a unique wedding, a beautiful couple, and some rain that never dampened spirits.  And here’s a little sample of Allison & Shaun’s wedding:

Marcy & LaShadric are married!

July 20th, 2009

It’s been a busy week, but I wanted to share a photo from the wedding of Marcy & LaShadric this past weekend.   As with many weekend weddings this year, there was a threat of rain.  But it was a BEAUTIFUL day!  And it made this couple very happy.  More to come!

Jennifer & Andrew’s Cape Cod Wedding Video

July 7th, 2009

OK, the blog has got off to a slow start.  Maybe it’s the rainy weather we’ve been having lately?  Anyway, this past weekend was absolutely beautiful!  And what a better way to celebrate the return of warm sunshine than to have a wedding on Cape Cod!

Jen and Andrew were married in the lovely St. Anthony’s Church in East Falmouth.  Afterward they went off to party on the beach in Mashpee at the Popponesset Inn.  Everyone had a great time!  Did I mention that it was sunny?  Beautiful.

They chose Vital Memories to capture their day with a wedding video, and we’ve put together a little movie trailer for you to enjoy below.  It’s just a teaser from the ceremony – you’ll have to wait to see their fun reception, with some of the happiest people I’ve ever seen at a wedding celebration.  We were referred by their wedding photographer Kate Rose, and she and her fiance were wonderful to work with (thanks Kate!).

Now here’s the short wedding movie trailer we put together for Jen & Andrew:

Fusion Films for Weddings

April 29th, 2009

There’s been a certain “buzz” in the world of wedding imagery with what has been called “Fusion”.  First, let me introduce Fusion to you.  Fusion is the blending of the still image (a photograph) with the moving image (video clips), to make a short film.  While this is not a revolutionary idea, the tools and the new artistry of shooting combine to make this a very compelling option, especially for wedding couples.

Although some photographers are not interested in Fusion, many are embracing it, as a fresh way to bring the video component into their craft.  And some of the tools to create the moving image are being incorporated into the cameras they are already using.  But the post-production of an edited film has been a challenge for some photographers who are working with video for the first time.

We feel that Fusion is a natural progression, not only for the industry, but for our own creativity.  As mentioned, the industry is pushing the boundaries of what tool is used to capture the still and moving image.  Today’s professional digital cameras can create stunning imagery, with both still photography and video from the same camera.  Our company, Vital Memories, has already been providing separate services for photography and videography.  Since we already have the skills and talent for both mediums, it was very natural for us to provide Fusion.

Earlier this year we decided to offer our Fusion Film, and have been very pleased with the response from our clients.  Our Fusion Films are not simply a montage of photos mixed with video.  Like a good short story, we focus not only on the imagery but the audio as well.  We feel that the story of a wedding is enhanced tremendously by the conversations and sounds of the day.  When we blend our still images with key video clips we can produce a tightly edited film and a very compelling story.

We are very excited to offer our Fusion Films, and hope you are as well!  Please visit our website to see a sample of our Fusion Film.
